At the beginning of March 2022, Gartner published the Market Guide for Identity Proofing and Affirmation, written by Akif Khan, vice president analyst at Gartner Research; where ReconoSER ID was mentioned as a Representative Vendor.
Every year, the renowned technology research and consulting firm Gartner, publishes an edition of the market guide by category, which highlights the innovation development of companies in an independent and objective manner, and provide information on key market capabilities. ReconoSER ID is honored to be listed in this new edition of the Market Guide for Identity Proofing and Affirmation, as a Representative Vendor.
One of the key findings of the report states, ” Organizations are under pressure to move more high-risk interactions online. However, the need to establish trust in the user’s real-world identity must be balanced with expectations for minimal friction in the user experience (UX).”[1]. The report further states, “determining which technology to implement depends on the channel of interaction and the degree of confidence required in the identity”. [2]. Another key finding in the report states “making identity proofing, fraud detection and user authentication capabilities work together across the user journey can improve risk mitigation, reduce costs and boost innovation in product or service offerings but remains challenging for organizations to execute on “[3].
The following are some of the recommendations to buyers and trends described in the market guide:
- Multi-capability layered approach [4].
ReconoSER ID as a developer of modular solutions, allows customers to use certain components depending on the level of risk, for example, it is possible to perform an identity validation that includes only the ID document, the ID document and a selfie, or these two components added to other attributes such as geolocation, IP risk validation, open source query, background validation, among others, to strengthen and reaffirm the user’s identity.
According to the report:
“Another key difference between vendors is the use of human agents to augment ML decisions, which can impact both pricing and SLAs on timing. In some cases, vendors can also offer functionality to enable agents (from the client or sometimes the vendor) to speak directly to the user in a video call. Such “virtual in-person” identity proofing is a regulatory requirement in some countries, and a key difference in assurance levels in frameworks such as NIST Identity Assurance Level (IAL).”[5].
With Meeting ID, a product developed by ReconoSER ID, the client and/or supplier has a tool to make validation video calls, allowing direct interaction with the user.
- Checking against government databases[6].
Currently in ReconoSER ID we can corroborate document data from 16 LATAM countries against official sources to identify forged or altered documents (Character extraction via OCR, barcode reading of identification documents and queries in open sources, government and restrictive lists), as an added value we have constant reviews of qualified personnel, which feed ML decisions, as well as an approach to the detection of attacks through our antispoofing technology.
Gartner, who after a careful selection within the vendor market, included ReconoSER ID as one of the Representative Vendors that meets several criteria addressed in the guide, “Having products with unique, innovative and/or demonstrate forward-looking technologies”[7], companies that as the consultant says “are often cited in client interactions and that stand out in offering new approaches to meet client requirements”[8] and that “represent particular market segments or geographic regions”[9]. This information was based on “publicly available information and hundreds of direct interactions with vendors and end-user organizations over the past 18 months”[10], as stated in its evidence section.
The inclusion of ReconoSER ID in the market guide reflects our commitment to offer reliable identity validation processes and the creation of a 100% secure digital environment for the region.
